ADA Requirements
- The official language of the Hands Up Conference will be American Sign Language (ASL). Workshops and presentations will be in ASL, no voice interpretations will be provided. Fledgling track will have different communication expectations.
- Accommodations for attendees must be emailed before May 15, 2024 – we cannot assure that any requests made after May 15, 2024 will be provided.
- If you require reasonable accommodations per the Americans with Disabilities Act, to participate in the 2024 Hands Up Conference contact us at conference@
handsupcommunications.com. - All participants must pay the registration fee(s) regardless if dDeaf, Hard of Hearing, Hearing, CODA, etc.
Cancellation Policy
- Refund requests submitted on or before December 31, 2023, will have a $50 fee deducted from the refund amount.
- Refund requests submitted on or after January 1, 2024 to May 31, 2024 will have a $100 fee deducted from the refund amount.
- No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2024.

Do you have paperwork to offer my Employer for reasons why I should go to The Hands Up Conference?
Check out our Justification Letter to offer your employer. The conference’s primary goal is to provide world-class professional development for sign language professionals. Hands Up Communications has contracted with subject matter experts to address the needs of sign language interpreters, American Sign Language instructors, interpreter training instructors, and teachers of the Deaf to name a few.
Have your Employer invest in YOU to attend the conference so they can better their business along the way.
Is food provided with my Conference Registration ticket?
Food is not provided with registration. We will have blocked out times on the schedule for you to go visit surrounding restaurants or time to check out the mall’s Dining Pavilion.
There is also a Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks located on the main lobby floor of The Hotel.
Complimentary breakfast is not provided with The Hotel – please plan accordingly.
When is the last day I can register for The Hands Up Conference?
- You will be able to register for the conference at the printed conference prices until Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
- The cost for day-of-registration is $500.00 per person, this will cover your attendance at the conference – but does not guarantee that we will have handouts, conference books, or other conference related materials. NOTE: You can pay for each day separately (a la carte) or the whole conference.

Where do I book my hotel and why should I book through your website?
- We have worked with the hotel to get a competitively priced hotel room.
- You will be an elevator ride away from the workshops, vendors, and sponsors!

How can I volunteer?
The Hands Up Conference allows for all levels of sign language users to become ambassadors to volunteer! You do not have to be a student to work as an ambassador.

Will there be an opportunity to provide feedback about the conference and workshops?
- At the conclusion of the conference, you will be able to provide feedback on the Conference Survey form in the back of the conference book. Your feedback is very important to us, and we want to hear from you! Please take a few minutes to complete the post-conference survey. The satisfaction and education of each participant is very important to us.
- RID/BEI CEUs will be completed according to each entity’s requirements.
